Fairhope Brewing Co – Mobile

Fairhope Brewing Company’s downtown Mobile taproom opened in 2023, the second taproom for the Fairhope-born brewery. The company began in 2012 with a simple question: why didn’t Lower Alabama have its own craft brewery? The spark came from Michele Kane during her time in Alaska, and a group of local homebrewers and friends set out to open the region’s first production craft brewery since Prohibition. The first batch went into the fermenter on December 21, 2012, when the Mayan calendar supposedly predicted the end of the world, and the original Fairhope taproom opened in January 2013. Today the brewery always has 14 beers on tap plus a gluten-free choice, ranging from IPAs and stouts to golden ales and fruited sours. The Mobile taproom has live music on weekends, and with no kitchen of its own, guests are encouraged to bring their own food.
