Big Beach Brewing Company

Big Beach Brewing Company sits in the center of Gulf Shores and bills itself as Alabama’s southernmost brewery. Head brewer Rod Murray and the owners helped pioneer local craft beer in the beach town. The brewery runs a 10-barrel system used only for ales, covering IPAs, stouts, cream ales and Belgian-style beers, and six fermenters supply up to 12 beers on tap. Big Beach uses a tank-to-tap setup: instead of kegs, eight 300-gallon serving vessels sit on display behind the bar so the beer is poured as fresh as possible. The open-air taproom has a fireplace, comfortable seating and four garage doors that let the coastal breeze through. Families are welcome in the front yard, the Taproom Table Kitchen serves flatbreads and snacks, and Big Jerk Soda from Pensacola is available for non-drinkers.
