Old Black Bear Brewing – Athens is the laid-back South Marion Street taproom of Old Black Bear Brewing Company, whose motto is that hard work has its reward. The Athens room serves food alongside the beer and has its own general manager, front-of-house team and head chef. Todd Seaton is the company’s owner and brewer. Beers poured in Athens have included Sandbar Sun-Daze, a light wheat beer with honey and lemon zest; Hey Girl Hey!, a tart sour ale with blackberry and key lime; Above Ground Pool pilsner; Beach Vibes, a hazy tropical IPA; URSA Major, an aggressive, resinous IPA; and Bear Heart, a rich Scotch ale with caramel depth.
