Birmingham District Brewing Company

Birmingham District Brewing Co. takes its name from the geology that built Birmingham. In 1849, Alabama’s first state geologist, Michael Tuomey, documented a belt of iron ore about 75 miles long between Springville and Vance, an area later called the Birmingham District. Together with nearby coal and limestone, it supplied everything needed to make iron and steel, and the brewery notes that the area is the only place in the world with all of those minerals within a 50-mile radius. That wealth fueled the rapid growth that earned Birmingham the nickname the Magic City. The founders come from Birmingham to Texas, and their backgrounds span aviation, engineering, entrepreneurship, geology and healthcare administration. Their brewers bring more than 20 years of combined experience and aim for bold, distinctive styles alongside current trends. The brewery hosts events and has a private event space.
