Back Forty Beer Company – Birmingham

Back Forty Beer Company’s Birmingham brewpub sits near the historic Sloss Docks and pairs beer brewed on site with a chef-driven menu. The location aims to raise the bar for a fast-casual brewery, with dishes built on classic culinary techniques. The brewhouse covers American classics and European craft styles, from crisp lagers to hoppy IPAs, introducing more than 50 different beers each year with up to 25 on tap at a time. Back Forty began in Gadsden in 2008, when founder Jason Wilson set out to bring a wider craft beer culture to the South, and its name refers to the fertile but overlooked back 40 acres of a farm. Its early beers, Naked Pig Pale Ale and Truck Stop Honey Brown Ale, helped build the brand, and the latter won a Great American Beer Festival silver medal. The brewpub offers event booking and gift cards.
